New to Tour de Fleece?

It is a spinning extravaganza that takes place each year during the Tour de France bike race. This year it runs June 29th to July 21st.

The goal is to set yourself a challenge and then spin your heart out. Many people crank out large quantities of handspun yarn during this event, though you can set whatever goal you would like.

My personal goal is to spin each day including spinning one of every Storyteller Stitchery Society fiber braids released in 2024, and to card and spin a sweater’s quantity of yarn from the beautiful fleece I bought at Estes Park Wool Market this year. I’ll share updates on Instagram as I go.

New to spinning?

If you are new to spinning and fancy giving it a go during Tour de Fleece, know that there is very little equipment required! Grab yourself some fiber (using that discount code TOURDEFLEECE24 😉) and a drop spindle (you can find lots on Etsy for a range of budgets starting at around $10, or by Googling “drop spindle).
